Mugshot Barber Shop Roseville Lincoln Rocklin Granite Bay Sacramento
Barbering had an incredibly rich history, going as far back as ancient Egypt, when barbers were considered to be pillars of the community. Those first barbers came from highly respected men of religion and medicine. They performed shaves and even minor surgeries with tools made out of stones and shells-all of which was just part of a man’s everyday routine when visiting a barber. Barbers were, in many ways, surgeons, with many performing minor surgeries such as bloodletting and dental procedures on top of their everyday cuts and shaves, often referred to as ‘barber surgeons’. The barber pole too had different meanings in its origin. The spiraling stripes symbolize different aspects of the craft; the white and red stripes represent bandages and blood, while the blue stripes represented veins. Nowadays, the colors are more often associated with the colors of the U.S. flag. Today barbershops are a place for men to spend time, socialize or get some rest from the world. Now, barbers may not perform medical procedures, but often act as therapists and trusted advisors to their clients.
