One of the best parts of going to get your haircut is the fact that you get to choose how it gets cut. It is your look. It is your style. It is your choice! That being said if you want to change things up a bit (which a lot of people have done this past year because of the pandemic) it can be hard to know which new haircut you are really looking for. What looks good vs what does not? What appearance do you like vs which one you do not? Luckily, today we are going to give you some helpful tips on what you can do to make the transition to a new haircut easier. One of the easiest things you can do is have a conversation and consult with your barber. They are haircut and styling professionals after all so they can give you some great advice. Barbers like the ones here at our shop have seen it all before and have helped hundreds if not thousands of individuals with haircut style changes. Trust us when we say it will not be their first rodeo. Ask them about trends that they have seen. Ask them about what might look good with your head shape, hair type, and hair color. They will be able to answer all of those questions and help you make a final decision. You can also show them a photo of what you like. Do not be afraid to do your research, find a reference photo, and show your barber what you are looking for. If they are a good barber, like the ones here at Mugshot, they will not get offended. Some barbers get offended because they want to drive the conversation and lead you themselves but good barbers will do whatever it takes to make sure you leave happy. Lastly, be honest with yourself and your barber. If at the end of your haircut you do not like what you are seeing know that it is ok to let your barber know. The last thing barbers want is to be lied to and never get your business ever again. If they are a good barber they will do what they can to make it right. Just be honest and at the end of the day your hair will grow back and you can try another look in a month or so. Changing your haircut style can be risky because you are changing your entire appearance. But, if you do these things and walk in with an open mindset more often than not you are going to walk away looking like a stud! Work with your barber, have a conversation, and be honest. Change is good and barbers will do what they can to help you along the way.
